Frankie Westly Kocian was in the 136th Infantry in WWII and was an ammunition handler, machine-gunner and truck driver. He stood guard over Tomoyuki Yamashita (the Imperial Japanese Army General) after Yamashita was captured.
His honors included the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon with two Battle Starts, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze Battle Star, three Overseas Service Bars and the Good Conduct Medal.
