George P. Hanna was drafted into the US Army Corps on March 13, 1943. He was stationed in California where he trained until his deployment in Luzon, New Guinea in the South Pacific. He was a member in the Military Medical Army Corps. During his tour of duty he bravely served with fellow soldiers and received the Victory Medal, the American Theater Ribbon and Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon and with two Bronze Battle Stars. He was honorably discharged on January 22, 1946.
