Jack proudly enlisted in the US Navy in 1943. He served in the Pacific Theater aboard the ammunition ship the USS Mazama, that was torpedoed while he was aboard. He shared his love of the country by flying his American flag in his front yard and showing his three daughters how to properly fold the flag.
