Our Dad moved to Northville in 1923 at the age of four from Horton Bay, Michigan. His father owned several grocery stores and Dad delivered groceries to people's homes. He graduated from Northville High School in 1937. He joined the Army in 1941.
He was with his unit on the East Coast when Pearl Harbor was attacked. He served as a M.P. in campaigns in North Africa and Italy. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with four Bronze Stars.
Above all of that, he was a great husband and Dad.
