Charles R. “Clancy” Ely, Jr. was born in Northville and was a lifelong active member and businessman in the Northville community. He proudly enlisted in the Michigan Air National Guard in 1957, and after six years of service he was honorably discharged in 1963 with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
