George J. Martin entered the active service of the US Army in June of 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1961. He served in the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery of the Asia Pacific Operation Group. George was responsible for transportation of commanding officers throughout the Korean war zone and the mechanics of their vehicles.
He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Korean Service Ribbon. George was also given a commendation letter for devotion and superior skills used in hazardous driving conditions across Korea. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States while serving in the Army in June 1954.
George was born in Bardejov Nova Ves, Czechoslovakia, and proudly served in the US Army.
