Joel enlisted in the Marine Corps on his 18th birthday in 2007 and graduated from basic training at Parris Island later that year.   He served for five years as an Aviation Electrician on CH-57E helicopters with HMH-361, the Flying Tigers, stationed primarily in San Diego, CA.  Joel served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2009 and Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010.  He had the opportunity to escort President Obama and VIPs for a fundraising trip in San Francisco and participated in numerous flyovers and flag ceremonies for NASCAR and NFL events.

After separating from the Marine Corps, Joel has earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from San Diego State University and MBA from UC San Diego.  He now works in corporate finance and is a proud husband and father.
