Long time resident, John Hlohinec, served in World War II. He was a Corporal, U.S. Army, Military Policeman. He had tours in England, Belgium, France and Germany. John went in on Omaha Beach, on D-Day plus one.
After the war, he studied in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he met his future wife, Eileen; they married and settled in Northville where they raised four children. He enjoyed working in his garden and keeping the property in beautiful shape.
John worked as a policeman at Detroit House of Correction. He passed away in 1992.
