When World War II started, my Father was working at the Ford Motor Company as a machine operator. He was inducted into military service on September 30, 1943 with entry into active service on October 31, 1943. He went to AAFTS in Burbank, California and Amarillo, Texas as an airplane mechanic and gunner for the B-29. His rank was a corporal in the Army Air Force, USAAF. The war ended his deployment to the Pacific. On October 23, 1945, he was honorably discharged. We lost my father on November 1, 1992.
