  • Ken Mazur was drafted into the United States Army shortly after the Vietnam War's Tet Offensive in 1969.  At the time, he was married, working full-time, and enrolled in business college.  Instead of starting his planned family, Ken became the oldest draftee in his company at 23 years of age.

Ken initially trained at Fort Knox, Kentucky, but after being selected to serve as a combat medic in the US Medical Corps he was re-stationed to Fort Polk, Louisiana, to complete his combat and medical training.  Upon completion, he was one of only three in his platoon to be sent to the 196th Station Hospital, SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe), in Mons, Belgium.

After returning from active duty, Ken worked as a Logistics Manager at the Ford Motor Company for nearly 40 years.  He and his wife, Ramona, raised four children (now with eight grandchildren) in the local area.
