Dr. Lawrence Mistor served in the Air Force during the Korean War and joined the National Security Agency (NSA) following the end of the conflict. While not a pilot, Dr. Mistor was a translator, engaging in surveillance missions over enemy territory during the war and at the outset of the Cold War. He was honorably discharged in 1956.
