Leonard A. Grabijas enlisted in the United States Navy in 1952.  He completed officer training at Naval Aviation Schools Command, in Pensacola, Florida.  Afterwards, Leonard was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he completed naval aviator and aircraft carrier training.  He received his naval pilot license to fly the North American F-51 Mustang.  Leonard received an honorable discharge in 1954, and maintained his private pilot license. He often gave a friendly wing wave as he flew over his family home in Dearborn.  Our family is very proud of Leonard’s service to his country and as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
