LTC(R) Waldo Galan enlisted in the Army in 1997 as an Arabic and Spanish Linguist and Human Intelligence Collector. After achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant (E6), LTC(R) Galan commissioned in 2004 as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Defense Artillery. LTC(R) Galan served as a Platoon Leader and Battery Executive Officer before transitioning to the Signal Corps. LTC(R) Galan then served as a Battalion S6 (Communications Officer), a Battery Commander, Instructor and Small Group Leader at the US Army Signal Captain’s Career Course, Brigade S6, Deputy Division G6, Division Network Operations Officer In Charge (OIC), and an Observer/Coach/Trainer.
LTC(R) Galan has been stationed at the Presidio of Monterey, CA; Fort Huachuca, AZ; Camp William, UT; Fort Bliss, TX; Fort Gordon, GA; Fort Leavenworth, KS; Camp Casey, Korea; Fort Drum, NY, and Fort Leavenworth; KS. He has deployed in support of the KFOR NATO Mission to Kosovo, Operation New Dawn in Kuwait/Qatar, and Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq.
