Bill proudly served in the United States Navy from 1971 to 1976.  He was stationed on the USS Piedmont which serviced destroyers in or near battle areas keeping them fit for duty.  While on the Piedmont, Bill served as the Chaplain’s Assistant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.  He was discharged from Active duty in August of 1973 but remained in the U.S. Naval Reserves until December 1976.  In 1985 he and his family moved to Northville.  Northville was his home until his death on 7-12-21.  Bill loved Northville and had many cherished friends but the most cherished person in his life was his son Nick.  We proudly thank you for your service.
